This week, an Alabama man is scheduled to appear in court following the tragic death of one of his alleged shooting victims from an incident on Sunday.
According to Jefferson County coroners, Kimber Mills, aged 18, succumbed to her injuries, as reported by WVTM. Steven Tyler, aged 27, is accused of shooting Mills and three others during a bonfire gathering in Pinson.
Mills was declared brain-dead, and her organs were donated before she was taken off life support.
Mills’ sister recounted that Whitehead unexpectedly showed up at the bonfire, unfamiliar to Mills and her companions. Allegedly, Whitehead attempted to engage with one of Mills’ friends by offering a drink, prompting her to inform her boyfriend. This led to a significant altercation, culminating in gunfire.
As reported by AL.com, another victim, an 18-year-old male, remains in the hospital in serious condition following the shooting.
Whitehead has been charged with murder and attempted murder. He remains jailed without bond.
