The courtroom in Barrow County remains the center of attention as the murder trial progresses for Colin Gray, a Georgia father accused of providing his teenage son with a firearm before the tragic Apalachee High School shooting in 2023.

Colin Gray faces a total of 29 charges, which include second-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter, and child cruelty. He has entered a plea of not guilty, as previously reported by CrimeOnline. For more details, visit WSBTV’s full coverage.

The charges against Gray are linked to accusations that he purchased an assault-style rifle and ammunition for his son, Colt Gray, in December 2023.

During the opening statements, prosecutor Brad Smith addressed the jury in Barrow County, revealing that Colt Gray, who was 14 at the time, entered Apalachee High School in Winder on September 4, 2024, carrying a rifle concealed in his bag, according to NBC News.

Colt Gray reportedly hid in a school bathroom before reappearing in yellow work clothes and allegedly opened fire, resulting in the deaths of two students and two teachers.

The victims have been identified as:

  • Cristina Irimie, 53
  • Richard Aspinwall, 39
  • Mason Schermerhorn, 14
  • Christian Angulo, 14

Numerous other students were wounded during the incident.

Colin Gray has pleaded not guilty.

Meanwhile, a status hearing for Colin Gray has been scheduled for March. He’s facing 55 felonies, including including four counts of malice murder.
