GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Destiny M. Clark, 18, of Albany, GA, and Zeke Nathaniel Dupree, 19, of Collinsville, AL, were arrested last night after allegedly burglarizing multiple cars. Dupree was also charged with fleeing with lights and sirens active and resisting an officer without violence after he allegedly fled from deputies and was found in a retention pond off Tower Road.

At about 4:37 p.m. on October 24, Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call about multiple vehicle burglaries in a parking lot in the 6900 block of NW 4th Boulevard. The caller reportedly said the suspects were in a white Jeep Cherokee with a Georgia tag.

The responding deputy spoke with the caller, who said a woman had been pulling door handles and entering vehicles in the parking lot. Surveillance footage reportedly showed a woman getting out of a white Jeep that was driven by a man.

A victim said he saw the woman in his vehicle, and when he checked the vehicle after she left, he noticed that a bag containing several chargers worth about $50 was missing. The woman also entered a second car, but the owner did not notice anything missing. She also attempted to enter three other cars.

Deputies located a white Jeep Cherokee in the 700 block of NW 75th Street and attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle reportedly fled. When the vehicle finally stopped, Clark was arrested, but an extensive K-9 track was required to locate Dupree, who was eventually found in a retention pond. Deputies later found the suspects’ car in the 7300 block of W. University Avenue.

Clark has been charged with two counts of burglary of an unoccupied vehicle, two counts of attempted burglary of an unoccupied vehicle, and one count of theft. A court document indicates that she said she’d been in the area for about three days and in Florida for about a week. She has no criminal convictions, and Judge Meshon Rawls set bail at $7,000.

Dupree is currently in the hospital and has been charged with two counts of burglary of an unoccupied vehicle, two counts of attempted burglary of an unoccupied vehicle, one count of theft, fleeing with lights and sirens active, and resisting an officer without violence. He has an unspecified criminal history in another Florida county and in another state, and he has two active warrants out of Alabama. Judge Rawls set bail at $72,000.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
