In the weeks preceding Nancy Guthrie’s alleged abduction, a curious internet search for her home was conducted.
Fox News, referencing Google Trends data, revealed that an individual in Arizona searched for Guthrie’s address from June 21 to June 28, 2025. This search was repeated on January 11.
The report further mentioned that between March 1 and 8, 2025, and again from November 30 to December 1, 2025, Google Images was used twice to locate Guthrie’s home address, with the search specifically focused on finding a map of the property.
Additionally, Fox News noted that there was an online search for Savannah Guthrie’s salary during the period from December 13 to December 20, 2025.
Authorities have not yet confirmed if these internet activities are pertinent to their ongoing investigation.
Investigators are in the process of analyzing a glove found two miles from Guthrie’s home and DNA samples recovered from the residence. On Tuesday, the FBI confirmed that genealogy testing is being used to identify familial matches after DNA samples were entered into the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) and yielded no matches.
Pima County sheriff Chris Nanos also announced on Tuesday that the DNA samples taken from the home and glove did not match.
The shift in the investigation comes a week after the FBI released footage and surveillance stills of someone outside of Guthrie’s home around the time she vanished on January 31. The footage showed someone outside Guthrie’s home wearing a glove which resembled the one found two miles from her home.
In addition to locating Guthrie, police are investigating two ransom notes that were reportedly sent to local news outlets. One of the notes demanded millions in Bitcoin in exchange for Guthrie’s return.
No arrests have been made.
