A firefighter was arrested for taking and sharing photos of two brothers who were found dead on a Georgia mountain this month.

According to WANF, Towns County volunteer firefighter Scott Kerlin, 42, took pictures of Qaadir and Naazir Lewis, 19, deceased at the top of Bell Mountain on March 8. It is unclear how he shared the photos, but the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Kerlin is charged with obstruction.

Hikers reportedly discovered the Lewis brothers on the mountain. The pair had gunshot wounds, and a preliminary investigation by Towns County police suggested it was a case of murder-suicide — which their family denied.

However, on Sunday, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said the Lewis brothers’ cause of death is pending and requested additional forensic testing.

The brothers were expected to go to Boston, Massachusetts, on March 7 but never made their flight. Their airline tickets were in their wallets when their bodies were found the next day, according to reports.

Family members said the 19-year-olds had never been in the area, which is 90 miles from home.

It is unclear whether Kerlin was at the scene as a first-responder, or if he was there at his own volition. The investigation into the brothers’ deaths is ongoing.
