Authorities in New York are currently on the lookout for a woman from Long Island who is believed to have leapt from a moving vehicle on Friday night in the area of Oyster Bay hamlet.

Reports from News 12 Long Island indicate that 32-year-old Brittany Kritis exited the car in a state of panic around 8:14 p.m., as her husband, Fernando Garip, drove near McCouns Lane. Witnesses say she discarded her phone into nearby bushes.

Her brother Niko shared with Patch, “She unexpectedly jumped out after the car moved forward from a stop sign. We are in the process of gathering videos that trace her route.”

Niko emphasized that Kritis should be seen as a “vulnerable person,” possibly confused, though she poses no threat to others.

Additionally, her sister-in-law mentioned that Kritis left her wallet on Florence Ave. in Oyster Bay and might believe she is being tracked and is in danger.

“We’ve been combing wooded areas, rural areas, suburban areas, everything,” Garip told News 12. “We’re going to be at this until she’s home.”

Kritis was last seen in black pants and a black jacket with a fur collar. She also wears glasses.

She described as standing 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing around 140 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact Nassau County Police Department Missing Person Squad at 516-573-7347.
