Authorities in Texas are actively searching for a 2-year-old boy who has been missing since last year.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office reports that Sherlock Vasile Jones was last spotted in Buda in August 2025. According to FOX 7, there is a felony warrant issued for his noncustodial mother, Jewel Ashley Jones, due to interference with child custody.

Officials suspect that Sherlock is with his mother and they may be located in Marble Falls, though there is a possibility they have left the state.

Sherlock is described as being 3 feet tall and weighing approximately 39 pounds, with fair skin, brown hair, and brown eyes.

Jewel Ashley Jones is described as being 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing about 120 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes.
