Authorities are intensifying their efforts to locate a 15-year-old boy from New York who disappeared two weeks ago, possibly to meet someone he encountered through an online gaming platform.
Thomas Medlin is suspected to have boarded a train from Long Island to New York City on January 9. According to WABC, Medlin was sighted at Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan on that day.
As reported by News12, Medlin’s last known whereabouts were in lower Manhattan and Brooklyn on January 10.
It is believed that Medlin left his home intending to meet an individual he connected with on Roblox. Since his disappearance, police have allegedly informed his family that his cell phone was discovered in lower Manhattan.
Medlin’s mother, speaking to Fox, expressed a heartfelt message, saying, “Whenever he’s ready to come home, let us know where to pick him up. And he’s not in trouble at all. We love him more than anything.”
Sources told the New York Post that foul play is not suspected in Medlin’s disappearance.
Medlin was described as standing 5 feet 4 inches tall, and weighing 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with red stripes, dark sweatpants with white stripes, a black backpack, and glasses.
Anyone with information regarding the teen’s whereabouts should call Suffolk County’s Fourth Squad Detectives at 631-854-8452.
