The search is ongoing for a Georgia man who mysteriously disappeared on Sunday after leaving his house with his dog.

James “Greg” Powell, a 61-year-old resident of Cherokee County, was last seen on Sunday morning, according to a report by Atlanta’s 11 Alive News. He left his home accompanied by his dog, Ally.

The Canton Police Department confirmed that Powell departed his residence at precisely 9:09 a.m. that day. His vehicle was later discovered by the authorities near the River Green Tennis Courts located at 111 Racquet Club Drive in Canton.

Ally, Powell’s dog, was reportedly dropped off with a sitter, but Powell himself did not return home thereafter.

At the time of his disappearance, Powell was described as wearing a large blue jacket paired with blue sweatpants.

The Canton Police Department is leading the investigation and is asking the public for any assistance in locating Powell.

Anyone who has information about Powell or his whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Cherokee 911 or the Canton Police Department directly at 770-720-4883.
