An Illinois family is reaching out to the public for information regarding a 59-year-old man who has been missing for just over a month.
Police reports indicate that Daniel Davis disappeared from the Blue Island vicinity on November 26. Despite the ongoing police inquiry and the community’s strong show of support, the details of his disappearance remain unresolved, as highlighted by FOX 32.
Wendy Davis, Daniel’s daughter, recently disclosed that a health crisis might have led to her father’s vanishing. On the day he went missing, Daniel was reportedly involved in a traffic accident while on his way to work.
Though he seemed well enough to proceed with his day afterward, his family now suspects the accident might have caused an undetected injury or confusion.
The incident occurred on November 24 near 115 Bourbon Street in Merrionette Park, as reported by NBC Chicago. After declining medical assistance, police escorted Davis to the Bourbon Street establishment where he was employed.
Davis was later seen in Ring doorbell footage, in the early hours of November 25, after leaving work on foot. He reportedly looked disoriented in additional footage from November 26.
Wendy Davis expressed concern regarding her father’s mental and physical state, Fox 32 reported.
“The biggest danger, his mental state with him being medically, impaired either a stroke or a fall or whatever is happening in his head, is the biggest danger to him because he doesn’t have a sense of where or who he is,” Wendy Davis, said.
The family fears he may be suffering from a stroke, a concussion from a fall, or another form of medical impairment that has left him unable to identify himself or his surroundings.
Authorities and loved ones have pursued several leads over the past four weeks:
Early in the investigation, concerns arose that Davis might have fallen into the Cal-Sag Channel. The Blue Island Fire Department conducted an extensive search of the water using sonar technology and boats, but no evidence of him was discovered.
The Facebook group “Find Dan Davis” was established in hopes of raising awareness and generating leads. There are over 15,000 members on the page who share information and monitor their local areas for any sign of him.
The investigation into Daniel Davis’s whereabouts remains open. The family is offering a cash reward for information that leads to his location. They are asking residents in the vicinity of Union Road to review their porch or business cameras for any activity starting from late November.
The public is encouraged to share Dan Davis’s information, and if you see someone matching Daniel’s description, contact police immediately.
