A woman from Utah, reported missing last week, has been discovered deceased, with her husband now identified as a “person of interest” in the investigation.

Jeusselem Elieth Genes was last spotted early Thursday in Saratoga Springs alongside her husband, 57-year-old Alvaro Jose Urbina Rojas, who was expected to drive her to work, according to KSTU. Neither of them returned that evening, and it was soon discovered that Genes never arrived at her workplace that day.

Authorities tracked the couple’s cell phones, finding Genes’ phone had been shut off. Rojas’ phone, however, pinged in the Draper area, though efforts to locate him or his vehicle proved unsuccessful.

Detectives uncovered that Rojas maintained a camping trailer at a Draper storage facility and decided to investigate on Saturday. The trailer was secured, preventing any view inside. A search warrant was not obtained until Monday, and upon execution, Genes’ body was found inside.

The delay between the initial missing report and the discovery of Genes’ body seemingly allowed Rojas to escape the state. Investigators tracked his credit card use to southern California, where surveillance footage also captured his vehicle. Additional footage recorded his vehicle at multiple points along the route to southern California.

Rojas is likely still driving a gray 2005 Toyota Sequoia with Utah license plate number T40 9YB. He is described as 5’09”, 193 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, Saratoga Springs police said.
