Authorities are on the hunt for a woman accused of leaving her infant daughter unattended in a bathtub, leading to the child’s tragic drowning over a year ago.

The search for 34-year-old Briana Arnold has hit a roadblock, as police currently have no leads on her whereabouts, according to a report from WCAX.

This heartbreaking incident occurred in October 2024. At that time, authorities discovered narcotics both in Arnold’s system and within her home.

Only recently, however, has an arrest warrant been issued. Arnold now faces charges of manslaughter, child cruelty, and drug-related offenses.

The toxicology report revealed the presence of fentanyl and methadone in Arnold’s bloodstream. Investigators suspect she abandoned her infant in the bathtub while it was filling with water, as reported by WPTZ.

Police said Arnold called 911 and attempted CPR herself, then authorities took over when they arrived, WVNY reported.

Authorities say that contacted Arnold on the phone after the warrant was issued, but she is not custody and police don’t know where she is.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Chittenden Unit for Special Investigations at 802-652-6895 or the local police department where she is known to be located.
