Casey Anthony announced on Sunday that she is joining social media as a legal advocate — nearly 14 years after she stood trial in Florida for murdering her 2-year-old daughter.

Anthony, 38, claimed she would use her self-appointed role to advocate for herself and her daughter.

“The whole point of this is for me to begin to reintroduce myself,” she said. “I’m doing this both personally for me, but in a professional capacity moving forward.”

Anthony stood trial in Florida in 2011 for the murder of her toddler daughter, Caylee, who is believed to have died in 2008. Following a six-week trial, Anthony was found not guilty of murder and manslaughter but was convicted of lying to police.

Anthony claimed her daughter accidentally drowned in the family’s swimming pool, and her father got rid of the body. Anthony waited a month to report the toddler’s disappearance, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

While Anthony said on TikTok that she does not intend to respond to her parents, she may address them at some point. WKMG reported that Anthony’s parents still live in Orange County.

“As a proponent for the LGBTQ community, for legal community, women’s rights, I feel that it’s important that I use this platform that was thrust upon me and now look at as a blessing, as opposed to the curse that it has been since 2008,” she commented.

As of Sunday, Anthony only has two videos on her TikTok page, where she has nearly 36,000 followers. She is also on Substack — where subscriptions start at $10 a month or $100 a year.
