GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Clifton Edward Anderson, 58, has been moved to the Alachua County Jail to face voter fraud charges just days prior to his June 18 release date from prison.
Anderson, a registered sex offender, was charged in February with fraudulently registering to vote and fraudulently voting in the 2020 General Election, both felonies. The charging document alleges that Anderson registered to vote in Alachua County on September 11, 2020, although he was ineligible to vote because he was a registered sex offender. Anderson allegedly voted on November 3, 2020, although he was ineligible to vote.
Anderson has just finished serving an 18-month state prison sentence for failing to register a vehicle that he owned when he registered a new address with Alachua County in March 2021.

Anderson is one of nine registered sexual offenders who were referred to Kramer’s office by Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Kim Barton in August 2022 and was the first to be charged. Derrick Robinson has since been sentenced to three years in state prison on charges of fraudulently registering to vote and fraudulently voting.
Judge Walter Green set bail at $30,000 on the charges.
