Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Jaquaila Rachelle Lee, 33, was arrested early this morning after allegedly threatening to hit a man with her vehicle at a gas station and throwing a drink on him.

At about 6:20 p.m. on September 19, Lee’s vehicle was reportedly blocking other vehicles in the parking lot of the Circle K at 5200 NE Waldo Road, and when a store employee asked her to move her vehicle, Lee became upset and started arguing with the employee.

During the argument, the victim pulled his car around Lee’s vehicle and parked at an open gas pump, remarking that it was “about time” that someone asked Lee to move.

Lee reportedly moved her vehicle next to the victim’s vehicle, got out, and started arguing with the victim. Before getting back into her vehicle, she allegedly picked up a drink and threw it at the victim, hitting him and his vehicle.

Lee got into her vehicle and drove toward the northern exit from the parking lot, and the victim walked toward her vehicle, yelling at her and holding his cell phone as if he were taking photos or a video.

Lee allegedly turned her vehicle around and drove toward the victim but stopped before hitting him. When the victim moved out of the way, Lee allegedly repositioned her vehicle, drove toward the victim again, and stopped short before hitting him.

Lee reportedly kept arguing with the victim until a friend convinced her to leave.

A witness told the responding Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy that he saw Lee threaten to hit the victim with her vehicle, and several other witnesses said they heard Lee make threatening statements toward the victim.

The victim reportedly said Lee threatened to kill him while digging around in her vehicle and driving toward him.

Lee was arrested at her Waldo home at about 3:30 a.m.

Lee has been charged with battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She was charged in five criminal cases between 2010 and 2014, but her only conviction was for driving without a valid license. Judge Sheree Lancaster set bail at $15,000.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
