A Texas man was arrested after allegedly breaking into a homeowner’s residence and threatening him with a knife in an effort to stop him from communicating with the homeowner’s former wife, authorities said.
Henry Walter Chapman III, 61, is charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit a felony, according to a statement from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
The alleged confrontation took place Oct. 12 at a home on Fairway Bridge Drive in far north San Antonio, officials said.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by San Antonio-based ABC affiliate KSAT, Chapman arrived at the residence at about 4:20 p.m. and told the homeowner he was affiliated with a group called the “Night Stalkers.”
He allegedly said he had come to deliver a warning.
When the homeowner tried to shut the door, Chapman allegedly kicked it open and entered the house, the sheriff’s office said.
The charging document states that Chapman then approached the homeowner while holding a knife.

Chapman allegedly stabbed the kitchen island with the knife while ordering the homeowner to contact his ex-wife and promise to stop communicating with her, according to the sheriff’s office.
“We will be back,” Chapman allegedly warned, according to the affidavit, which says he threatened to return if the homeowner refused to comply.
The homeowner’s daughters were inside the residence during the alleged incident.
The two watched from a second-floor balcony and later corroborated their father’s account, the sheriff’s office said.
Investigators used surveillance video to identify the vehicle believed to have been involved. The affidavit states that the black Mercedes C300 had been loaned to Chapman from Oct. 9 through Oct. 15.
Chapman was arrested Nov. 2 and remained held in the Bexar County Jail on $50,000 bond, KSAT reported.
