True crime fans will have much to savor in a new show coming to Oxygen.
Audiences can soon sink their teeth into the stories behind the disturbing Unknown Serial Killers of America, an original series consisting of six hour-long episodes profiling some of the nation’s most horrific killers. So, what’s the catch? These prolific killers never ascended to the level of notoriety reached by others, such as Ted Bundy, Jeffery Dahmer, and John Wayne Gacy, and their names may be new to even the most seasoned true-crime followers.
Hunting and killing under the radar, perhaps, helped these men remain uncaptured for so long, and some of the body counts remain unknown.
“With first-hand accounts from law enforcement who worked the cases and stories from loved ones of the victims, the series sheds light on serial killers who evaded the spotlight and examines how they were able to get away with their gruesome crimes for so long,” per the show’s official description.
You don’t want to miss it.
Where to Watch Unknown Serial Killers of America
The series premiere of Unknown Serial Killers of America airs on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 7/6c on Oxygen, following an all-new episode of Oxygen’s Snapped.
What we know from Unknown Serial Killers of America’s First Look
As seen in a dark and deadly First Look, Unknown Serial Killers of America examines only the worst of the worst from those closest to these unconscionable crimes. Those in focus include the “Riverside Prostitute Killer” William Suff; suspected Indiana killer Herb Baumeister; “Hog Trail Killer” Daniel Conahan; “Sunday Morning Slasher” Carl Watts; “Chameleon Killer” Terry Rasmussen; and killer Maury Travis.
These, one commenter said in the recent teaser, are a few of the most “prolific murderers in the history of the United States.”
“The national media never picked up on it because these victims were unidentified,” another claimed.
Yet the killers’ names continue to be unfamiliar to many.
