The Peacock documentary Pathological: The Lies of Joran van der Sloot is going beyond the headlines surrounding the murders of Natalee Holloway and Stephany Flores.
According to a press release from the streamer, “Pathological: The Lies of Joran Van Der Sloot delves into Joran van der Sloot’s lifelong pattern of violence and pathological lying through rare interviews and new insights years after he brutally murdered American Natalee Holloway and Peruvian Stephany Flores.”
Additionally, the documentary explores how the Holloway family learned the fate of their daughter, who traveled to Aruba in May 2005 on a student trip. “In 2023 — 18 years after Natalee’s disappearance — Beth Holloway finally gets her day in court with Joran, who admits for the first time that he murdered her daughter. His admission brings some long-sought comfort to Natalee’s family, but Joran’s history of deceit and manipulation leads some to question the details in his latest story,” a press release reads.

Natalee Holloway’s brother Matthew Holloway and Stephany Flores’ father Ricardo Flores are among the numerous individuals interviewed for the documentary, offering rare insights into the respective police investigations and the families’ experiences. Van der Sloot’s girlfriend Eva Pacohuanaco; Adeli Abad Marchena, a night clerk for Hotel TAC; Retired Captain Juan Callan of the Peruvian National Police; Natalee Holloway’s close friend Claire Fierman; Beth Holloway’s attorney John Q. Kelly; and more also participate in the documentary.
