Selena Quintanilla's Killer Yolanda Saldívar Speaks Out in Selena & Yolanda: Secrets Between Them

Yolanda Saldivar is speaking out from the Texas prison where she’s been incarcerated for nearly 30 years. 

The convicted killer is set to appear in the Oxygen True Crime limited series Selena & Yolanda: The Secrets Between Them. “In a series of wide-ranging interviews from prison, Saldivar details her working relationship and friendship with Selena, and she’s not alone. For the first time, members of Yolanda’s family discuss the two women and share never-before-revealed documents and recordings in an effort to show there was more to the tragedy than the public knows,” per a press release.

The series premiere comes one year before Saldivar is eligible for parole.

The series premieres on Oxygen with back-to-back episodes Feb. 17 at 8 p.m. ET/PT and concludes Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. Episodes will be available to stream on Peacock the day after they air.

According to the press release, a couple of Saldivar’s family members sat down for interviews to discuss their memories and share never-before-seen documents and recordings. 

Viewers can also expect to hear from “the hostage negotiator who spent nine hours on the phone with Saldivar after she shot Selena, the Corpus Christi Police Department detectives who were on the scene, the prosecutors who put Saldivar on trial and journalists who cover Selena and Latinx culture,” per Oxygen.
