Kelly Siegler wears many hats.

In addition to being a tried-and-true Texan, she is a former Chief of Special Crimes for the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and is currently the host of the Oxygen series Cold Justice. And in the new show Prosecuting Evil, Siegler combines her knowledge of true-crime TV with her previous work as trial attorney. 

The series revisits prior cases in which Siegler was a prosecutor or knew the prosecutor, giving viewers a never-before-seen look into the Texas justice system at work. Described by the network as an examination of “the most harrowing homicides and toughest trials in Texas history,” Prosecuting Evil is not to be missed.

Who is Kelly Siegler?

Formerly a prosecutor the Harris County D.A’s Office, Siegler now appears on Cold Justice and Prosecuting Evil. 

Since 2013, the prosecutor has sought to solve unsolved cold cases alongside a rotating team of seasoned detectives on Cold Justice The series has taken Siegler from state to state as she and the team seek to help local law enforcement find new leads and evidence.

The new series Prosecuting Evil is a departure from Cold Justice as it chronicles adjudicated criminal cases. “As Chief of Special Crimes in the busiest courthouse in the Lone Star state, Kelly Siegler battled to get killers into courtrooms and faced off with their formidable defense attorneys,” a press release states. In each episode, Siegler offers her recollections of highly publicized criminal trials and the efforts of law enforcement to have justice for the victims. 

Kelly Siegler’s Educational Background

Raised in the small town of Blessing, Texas, Siegler attended Tidehaven High School in El Maton, becoming the Valedictorian of her class, according to her bio. She went on to attend the University of Texas in Austin before receiving her law degree from South Texas College of Law in 1987. 

Where to Watch Prosecuting Evil

Siegler’s newest series Prosecuting Evil airs on Oxygen Saturdays at 8/7c p.m. Episodes are available to stream the following day on Peacock.
