Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Vikiela Latrell Hill, 32, was arrested last night after allegedly throwing a two-month-old infant at a man during an argument.
At about 8:45 p.m. on November 27, an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a call about a domestic disturbance at a residence in Linton Oaks, where the adult male victim reportedly said Hill had thrown the baby into his arms during an argument. The deputy reported that a surveillance camera on the exterior of the residence had captured the incident.
The deputy reported that the video showed Hill walking up to the adult male victim, who had his hand up as if he was anticipating being hit by Hill; the deputy wrote that Hill “aggressively threw [the infant] at [the adult male victim.” The deputy reported: “During the throw, [the infant] was unsupported and this action could have likely caused injury to [the infant].”
Post Miranda, Hill reportedly said she “shoved [the infant] into [the adult male victim] like, ‘Here, have the baby.’”
Hill has been charged with domestic battery and child abuse without great bodily harm. She was previously arrested for domestic battery in August 2023, but that case does not appear in Alachua County’s court records. She has been released on her own recognizance.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
