Donald Trump’s Las Vegas hotel is facing a wrongful death lawsuit accusing it of being responsible for causing the death of a 78-year-old woman with a faulty revolving door.

John Truschke, the surviving son of Diana Truschke, filed a lawsuit in Clark County District Court in Nevada on March 18. According to reports, the lawsuit alleges that on March 21, 2023, Truschke was visiting Trump International Hotel, and as she entered the revolving door, it sped up, struck her from behind, and threw her several feet forward onto her face. Reportedly, the filing said Truschke was “ejected” from the door, causing fatal injuries, and that employees knew or should have known the door was not working properly. Allegedly, the hotel also did not conform or comply with safety regulations.

Las Vegas Fox affiliate KVVU reported that the filing said Truschke was rushed to the hospital and received extensive medical treatment, then later died from unspecified injuries on Oct. 14, 2024. Trump International Hotels is reportedly being accused of negligently maintaining its revolving doors, violating safety codes, and failure to post safety warnings.

Truschke’s family has raised claims of negligence, negligent hiring, training and supervision, and wrongful death. The victim’s survivors seek unspecified damages in excess of $15,000 for loss of comfort and companionship, economic damages, future earnings, costs and expenses incurred, physical pain and injury, emotional pain and general damages, according to reports.
