A shocking lawsuit has emerged from Wisconsin, accusing a fertility specialist of deceiving a patient about the identity of her sperm donor. The woman was led to believe the donor was a young medical student. However, the truth, according to legal claims, is that the sperm was actually provided by the doctor himself.
The legal action is being pursued by Mary Ellen Lukezich and her son, Joseph Laedtke Heider, who have brought their case against Dr. Frederick Dettmann in Milwaukee Circuit Court.
Heider, now in his 40s, uncovered this startling revelation in 2024. A routine DNA submission to Ancestry.com unveiled a familial connection that pointed directly to Dettmann as his biological father, as reported in the lawsuit referenced by local ABC affiliate WISN.
Currently 91 years old, Dettmann is retired and through his attorneys, he has refuted all allegations of misconduct, maintaining his innocence in statements directed to the press.
“The events referenced are alleged to have occurred almost 50 years ago,” the statement said. “Dr. Dettmann has no independent recollection of the individuals making these allegations and is unaware of any evidence supporting the claims being asserted.”
