GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Terra Maeshawn Tillman, 26, was arrested yesterday and charged with sexual cyberharassment after allegedly posting a sexually explicit photo of a woman on Facebook because she was angry about something the victim posted.
The victim told a Gainesville Police Department officer that she began receiving messages from friends and family on July 8 to let her know that Tillman had posted a sexually explicit photo of the victim as her own profile picture on Facebook.
The victim said the photo was taken by a man who sexually battered her a few years ago and sent the picture to friends and family, including Tillman; she said Tillman did not have permission to use or post the photo, and seeing it posted on Facebook was traumatizing for her. The officer noted that the sexual battery incident was previously “resolved through the legal system.”
The officer reportedly called Tillman, who said the victim had posted a picture of a gorilla that was edited to add Tillman’s face, and she posted the photo of the victim because she was angry. She said she later realized that what she did was “stupid” and deleted the photo.
Tillman has been charged with sexual cyberharassment. She has no criminal history, and Judge Mitchell Bishop ordered her released on her own recognizance.
