Mekonnen Knife is one budding young actor on the rise. This talented member of #younghollywood sat down with JustJaredJr.com to share ten fun facts about himself. Keep reading to find out more about this Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires star!
But, before we get to the fun, let’s take a look at Mekonnen’s professional career.
According to his official IMDb, the 19-year-old performer started at Dracula’s Cabaret, when he was just 12 years old, as a Children’s Stage Entertainer, playing the role of ‘Wolfie’. He went on be employed for Network 10 for 2 years as a Host for a Children’s segment called Shake Takes, where he also had the opportunity to interview Hollywood actors. He also had the opportunity to perform in Li Cunxin’s ballet “The Nutcracker”, with the QLD Ballet.
Fast-forward to the present and Mekonnen’s starting as Vargas in the anticipated next installment of the Zombies franchise.
Now, on to the fun! Let’s get to know Mekonnen Knife a little more.
Mekonnen was not born in the USA.
I was born in Gerje Gefersa, a small town in Ethiopia.
Mekonnen was adopted.
I was adopted as a baby and moved to Australia when I was 7 years old.
Mekonnen is a twin.
I have a twin sister, Berhani Knife.
His favorite color fits into the Zombie universe.
My favourite colour is red, so I loved all the costumes we got to wear in Zombies 4. They were fire!
His favorite food is not hamburgers and fries.
My favourite food is sushi – it’s so good and I always try to get it when I’m traveling!
His inspiration is Michael B. Jordon
One of my favourite actors is Michael B. Jordan. He’s an inspiration to me and I’d love to have an iconic career like his.
His favorite superhero definitely a fan-favorite.
My favourite superhero is Miles Morales, followed by Black Panther.
The Zombies tour was full of costume changes.
On the Descendants Zombies Worlds Collide Tour, I have about 10 costume changes.
His onset hair care had a unique twist.
On Zombies 4 my hair wasn’t dyed red, my locs were covered in red wax which needed to be retouched each filming day. I had to be careful not to get it on my pillows or couches when I sat down.
“Blood fruit” is actually good.
Malachi [Barton], Sway [Bhatia], and I got to try “blood fruit” before filming on Zombies 4 began, to make sure we liked the taste. I loved it, it was very sweet and tasted like strawberry Jello.
