For the third consecutive year, the Belmont Stakes is taking place away from its usual location at Belmont Park on Long Island, New York. Instead, it will be held 190 miles north at Saratoga Race Course upstate. This change is due to a massive $455 million renovation project at Belmont Park, which is expected to be completed by fall 2026, potentially making it ready for next year’s race.
In the lead-up to the race, Renegade is the favorite, continuing their momentum from the Kentucky Derby. However, fans are also eager to see Golden Tempo, the Kentucky Derby champion, compete in today’s Stakes.
