Freshly single and eager to embrace the dating scene, Sophie Sierra is stepping into the spotlight with a new chapter in her life. Having recently ended her marriage with Rob Warne, her co-star from 90 Day Fiancé, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, and 90 Day: The Last Resort, Sierra is ready to reveal a different facet of herself on 90 Day: The Single Life. Reflecting on her past experiences, Sierra shared, “I was so depressed during all my previous seasons because I was in a bad relationship. People will finally get to see my fun, single side when I’m not in a toxic situation.”
Now based in Los Angeles, Sierra is channeling her energy into her trendy activewear brand, Sophie Sierra, while embracing her newfound independence. As viewers tune into 90 Day: The Single Life, they’ll witness her embark on a transformative journey, including a lively girls’ trip to the Dominican Republic with fellow Single Life star Liz Woods. Sierra, eager to make the most of the trip, extended an invitation to Julia Trubkina, another 90 Day Fiancé alum she bonded with while filming The Last Resort. “I know Julia is married, but she’s such a great wing woman,” Sierra remarked. “She also gets me out of my shell a little bit more.”
During this adventure, Sierra lets slip a juicy tidbit: she’s been casually seeing a familiar face to fans of the franchise—Pedro Jimeno. Known for his striking looks, fitness expertise, and dry wit, Jimeno was previously married to Chantel Everett. His charisma caught Sierra’s attention online soon after her split. “I saw Pedro on social media right when I became single,” she recounted. “I followed him because I thought he was cute, and then he slid into my DMs first.” Their interactions, initially light-hearted and flirtatious, took a surprising turn when Jimeno expressed a desire to get serious during their time in the Dominican Republic. “It really threw me off,” Sierra admitted.
Sierra recently visited the DECIDER studio to discuss the upcoming season, her thoughts on Jimeno’s unexpected romantic overture, and to hint at the unfolding story that fans can look forward to.
DECIDER: Sophie, 90 Day: The Single Life has a very different vibe than the other shows in the franchise. Were you excited to let audiences see another side of you?
SOPHIE SIERRA: I was really excited to let the audience see a different side of me. I was so depressed during all my previous seasons because I was in a bad relationship. Now, people will finally get to see my fun, single side when I’m not in a toxic situation.
You start the season off by taking a girls’ trip to the Dominican Republic! Why were Liz and Julia the perfect travel companions?
I really needed a girls’ trip [laughs]. It was important to have my friends with me. I know Julia is married, but she’s such a great wing woman. She’s so fun. She also gets me out my shell a little bit more. With all that Liz has been through, I knew she also needed a break. Plus, she was single and ready to get back out there too. I knew we’d have a great time together. Mostly [laughs].
Did you have any idea Julia was pregnant during the trip?
I had no idea Julia was pregnant! I thought I knew her so well because we’re so close, but I just never expected it. When she and I met on 90 Day: The Last Resort, she was very open about the fact that she likely couldn’t get pregnant. I never even thought it was a possibility. So, I was shocked, but happy for her too.
Maybe I’m not up to date on social media, but I had no idea you were talking to Pedro of Pedro and Chantel! Who messaged who first?
I saw Pedro on social media right when I became single. I was looking at guys online, and he just caught my eye. I followed him because I thought he was cute, and then he slid into my DMs first.
What drew you to him?
His looks [laughs]. I saw a video of him where he was looking at himself in the mirror and listening to one of my favorite songs from Bad Bunny. He was very confident, which is a quality I love in a guy. I was like, “oh, let me just follow him.” I didn’t plan on sliding into his DMs or anything. I just thought he looked good.
Sophie, I believe you when you said you made it clear to Pedro that you wanted to keep things causal. When did it hit you that he was more into you than you were into him?
Honestly, it was the first night in the D.R. Before that, he was just so chill when we hung out. He’d be like, “hey, Sophie, how are you?” He had such a different vibe. It was very causal. I wasn’t nervous at all about seeing him during our girls’ trip because I thought we both just wanted to have some fun. When I met him at the club, I was caught off-guard. He was like, just standing there and waiting for me. It felt like a big deal. Then, he started introducing me to all his friends, and everything just felt very serious all of a sudden. It really threw me off.
Yeah, he even had coconuts and rose petals waiting for you in the car that picked you up from the hotel. It felt pretty romantic. Was that one of the sweeter gesture a guy has ever made with you?
It’s definitely one of the sweetest things a guy has done for me, especially when we weren’t in a relationship. I’ve never had a guy do something like even when I was in a serious relationship [laughs]. Usually, guys will just take me to dinners if we’re not officially together. So, that was really nice of Pedro, but I was also a bit like, “oh, what does this mean? Why is he going out of his way to do this?”
Speaking of your former relationships, when was the last time you spoke to Rob before you went on your girls’ trip?
I hadn’t spoken to Rob in a couple months before I went to the D.R. We were trying to have a friendship, but it was weird and confusing. We weren’t trying to get back together, but I was in the process of moving back to L.A. where he lives. It’s weird when things don’t work out with your marriage but you still are on talking terms. I soon came to realize you can’t be friends with someone you had a toxic relationship with.
What can you tease about your and Pedro’s journey this season?
I would describe it as a roller coaster. Things were very up and down between us. At some points, you won’t even really know what’s going on [laughs]. It’s just a whirlwind of feelings. Emotions got the better of us at times.
