An emotional Aaron Goodwin said his life will never be the same after learning that his estranged wife Victoria Goodwin had been plotting to have him killed.
The Ghost Adventures star spoke at Victoria’s sentencing on June 5 in Las Vegas. The reality TV personality gave a tearful victim impact statement where he spoke about how Victoria’s plan shattered his sense of trust and left him feeling permanently fearful.

Aaron told the judge that he believed he and Victoria, who had been together for seven years, had a loving and “special” relationship. That all changed last September, when he learned she’d been cheating on him with multiple men, including convicted murderer Grant Amato. Despite her infidelity, the pair agreed to work on repairing their marriage. But behind the scenes, Victoria was making plans to permanently get rid of her husband.
“She sought [Amato’s] help to kill me,” Aaron said, his voice shaking. “This has led me to fear for my life. I’ve hired armed security for weeks, not knowing if it was over or not, always looking over my shoulder … It’s a heartbreak no one should go through in life. I can’t trust anything anymore.”
“I cry every day. I feel so low … I will always wonder why,” he added.
Aaron said he had no inkling what his wife was planning until investigators told him she’d been arrested. He accused her of continuing to try to “manipulate” him from behind bars, saying she had tried to convince him not to testify at her sentencing.
“This person over here, I don’t know at all, not one bit,” he continued. “The fact that this person did all this to me, with no worry, no care, or love in her heart for me – I will never feel the same. I will never feel safe or be the same because of what she did.”

In May, Victoria pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to commit murder. She was arrested in March after police uncovered evidence that she’d been communicating with Amato, an inmate at a Florida prison, and had offered him money to arrange to have Aaron murdered. Amato is serving a life sentence after killing his parents and brother over a dispute about his relationship with a webcam model. Victoria connected with him after learning about his highly publicized case through a true-crime documentary.
Victoria provided Amato with details about when her husband would be filming episodes of Ghost Adventures in California. Amato then passed that information on to another man, who was supposed to kill Aaron.
On Thursday, a judge sentenced Victoria to 36 to 90 months in prison, with credit for time served. Aaron filed for divorce in March, shortly after he was informed of her and Amato’s plot.
Aaron told the judge that no matter how much time Victoria served, his life would never return to normal.
“I still won’t feel safe whenever she’s released,” he said.
