The NFL superstar revealed his marital status during a recent press conference, and the nonchalant nature of the statement struck some fans as interesting. Aaron Rodgers might seem so chill about his marriage news because he subtly filled fans in months ago. He made it clear during a podcast appearance that he had made a “big commitment.” It seems he was likely talking about marriage then.
Aaron Rodgers hinted that he had gotten married back in April
The internet is abuzz after Aaron Rodgers’ shocking marriage announcement. It’s the first time he has confirmed that he is a married man. Aaron Rodgers actually hinted at the nuptials back in April, though.
In April, Rodgers appeared on The Pat McAfee Show to discuss his free agency and where his career was going to take him next. At the time, Rodgers hadn’t made a final decision just yet and noted that deciding what to do was harder now that he’s in a different “phase” of life. He stated, “I’m in a different phase of my life; I’m 41 years old, I’m in a serious relationship… I have personal commitments I’ve made.”
Fans initially assumed he was just referring to things getting serious with a girlfriend. The mention of making a “personal commitment” does read like a hint about the marriage, though. Based on the vague timeline he offered during his announcement, it’s likely he was a married man when he made the comment.
He spurred rumors in May, too
Aaron Rodgers’ podcast appearance wasn’t the only hint ahead of his big announcement that he had gotten married. The longtime signal caller spurred rumors just a month ago when he showed up at the Kentucky Derby wearing what we now know is his wedding band.
At the time, an insider claimed that while things had gotten serious, Rodgers and his mystery love had not yet wed. That was apparently a lie. In his recent press conference announcement, Rodgers confirmed that the ring he was donning was, in fact, a wedding band. While fans peeped the ring, they didn’t get a glimpse of the mysterious Brittani.
The wedding didn’t bring Aaron and his brother, Jordan, together
While we don’t know anything about Aaron and Brittani’s big day, we do know that his brother, Jordan Rodgers, was not in attendance. At least, that’s what an insider claims. An insider spoke to the Daily Mail and confirmed that Aaron and Jordan Rodgers’ feud is still in full swing.
The insider claims Jordan and his wife, JoJo Fletcher, skipped the wedding because Aaron Rodgers did not attend their nuptials. They have not met the mystery bride and know almost nothing about her, according to the report.
Aaron Rodgers has had a tense relationship with his family for years. The NFL veteran has suggested the rift dates back to high school. His family has a different perspective, as do his former partners.
