Speaking about the incident, Iyke stressed that he would never accept such roles in any Nollywood production, making it clear that the script went against his personal principles.

He said: “I can’t roll with the gay guys, I’m sorry. I can’t wear skirt for nobody, I’m sorry. I know there’s a whole community, you know. I salute you guys, to each his own. We’re too much mill to get it twisted, yeah. The last producer that sent me his script along that line… the last… I located that guy with a machete.

Immediately he saw me, he took off. I said, keep running, keep running, keep running. So, they’re trying to reach a wider spectrum of audience and, of course, the community in question will not, you know, okay or give them a nod of approval if you don’t touch on subjects that are sensitive to them.”
