Alex Scott, the first contestant eliminated from this year’s “I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!”, candidly admits she understands why her journey ended early: she believes she was simply too dull for viewers.

The former Lioness, who has transitioned into a sports presenter, reflected on her limited screen presence. She speculated that her personal anecdotes shared around the campfire might not have captivated audiences as much as the narratives from fellow contestants like Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp and comedian Ruby Wax.

Following her exit, Scott’s girlfriend, singer Jess Glynne, expressed disappointment in a phone call, suggesting that Scott hadn’t received the spotlight she deserved. Glynne later voiced her frustration on Instagram, criticizing ITV and stating, “She didn’t get to show how incredible she really is.”

The Lioness-turned-sports presenter said she may have missed out on air time as the life stories she shared around the campfire wouldn’t command as much of the viewers’ attention as the likes of Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp and comedian Ruby Wax.

After leaving the camp, her girlfriend, the singer Jess Glynne, told Ms Scott in a phone call that she hadn’t got the screen time she deserved, which she later repeated on Instagram, hitting out at ITV saying: ‘She didn’t get to show how incredible she really is.’

Speaking after her jungle exit, Ms Scott, 41, told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Maybe I should have shared more stories, or a bit more.

‘There are so many big personalities, there were moments where people would be sharing stories and I’d be like, oh, I don’t feel like my stories are even worthy at the level of, like a Martin Kemp or a Ruby Wax.

‘I don’t know what’s been aired or shown. But I think I was the game’s master, sharing laughter.

‘I hope those bits came across, not just me talking about football, and that people saw the fun Alex a bit more.’

She added: ‘Jess has seen what’s gone out, and I haven’t. She said she feels maybe the fun side wasn’t there as much… but we know it’s a TV show and that’s the edits.’

Ms Scott also revealed how she only reluctantly went on the show after Ms Glynne’s mother Alexandra suffered a major stroke which left her needing brain surgery.

It came after questions had mounted as to why the singer wasn’t in Australia to greet her on the bridge during her exit from the show.

Breaking down in tears, Ms Scott said: ‘It’s been a tough time for us and her family, and it was a tough decision to come into the jungle. But then Jess never wanted me to step away from doing it.

‘I knew there was always a possibility of her not being across the bridge, if her mum hadn’t got better or if things had been getting worse, which they have been.’

Ms Glynne also wrote on Instagram: ‘I’ve had to stay close to home. Alex would always want me to be where I’m needed most.’
