Dancing with the Stars has found its next star in Alix Earle.

The influencer, podcast host, and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model sat down with Michael Strahan and Lara Spencer on Good Morning America on Thursday to break the news, becoming Season 34’s second celebrity cast member following Robert Irwin. When asked why she decided to take to the dance floor, Earle said that she has “always been a fan” of the show.

“I used to watch it when I was so young with my grandma and she would always say to me, ‘Maybe one day you can be on there,’” she shared. “I was so in love with dance. And when this opportunity came to me, it was like, what can I do next, where can I take this. And I mean, I’m ready to challenge myself. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun. So it was a very obvious answer to say yes.”

During the interview, Earle noted that she danced as a child up until her sophomore year of high school. However, having never done ballroom dancing nor never having danced with a partner before, she highlighted that this will be “a whole new venture” for her.

Earle, who graces the cover of this month’s WSJ. Magazine, also told Strahan and Spencer that she will serve up “the inside scoop” as she vlogs her experience a la “Get Ready with Me” (GRWM) videos that have become a trademark of hers online. Earle graced the cover of Wall Street Journal

As for Irwin, who was revealed to be vying for the Mirrorball Trophy next season during Hulu’s Get Real event last month, DWTS pro Alan Bersten told DECIDER that he thinks the late Steve Irwin’s son is “gonna do amazing.”

“He’s such a nice guy and is in great shape. I’m sure he’s taking dance lessons now. You just wanna root him on. So I’m sad that I won’t get to dance with him myself,” he said with a laugh. “He’ll do very well, I believe.”

Dancing with the Stars Season 34 is slated for a fall premiere. The new season will air on Tuesday nights at 8 p.m on ABC and stream live on Disney+, with next-day streaming on Hulu.
