Amanda Seyfried anticipated that her career trajectory would evolve over time.
As she marked her dual nominations at the 2026 Golden Globes for her roles in The Testament of Ann Lee and Long Bright River, Seyfried reflected on how becoming a parent with her husband, Thomas Sadoski, influenced her decision-making regarding projects. Their children, Nina, 8, and Thomas, 5, have reshaped her perspective on work commitments.
“To be acknowledged in any way,” Amanda revealed in an exclusive conversation alongside director Mona Fastvold on Live From E!: Golden Globes 2026 on January 11 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, “is incredibly rewarding, especially as I age and face tougher choices about being away from my kids.” (Check out more celebrity appearances on the red carpet here.)
At 40, Seyfried found herself competing in the prestigious Best Female Actor in a Motion Picture for Musical/Comedy and Best Female Actor in a Television for Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Television Motion Picture categories. She couldn’t have been more pleased with the recognition at the Nikki Glaser-hosted ceremony, despite the fierce competition in these categories.
