Amber Portwood has opted to discuss money on multiple occasions. The former Teen Mom star has waffled between claiming she’s too “broke” to live in California and insisting she’s made millions upon millions in her reality TV career. While some fans assume both statements can’t be true, apparently, Portwood insists there is a way. Amber Potwood has accused multiple people, including most of the men she’s dated, of stealing from her. She says she’s lost thousands from just under her couch cushions.

Amber Portwood accused Matt Baier of stealing profits from her

Amber Portwood spent more than three years in a relationship with Matt Baier, and she believes he was stealing money from her the entire time. She opened up about the possible betrayal on Teen Mom OG. In one episode, she explained to her brother, Shawn Portwood, that she believed Matt had taken over $100,000 from her over the years. She insisted she had no idea where the money went, and theorized that Baier was a “pathological liar.”

Amber Portwood is largely disliked by Teen Mom fans, with social media followers pointing out her loose connection to the truth. Still, Matt Baier is even more disliked. Most fans agree that he probably did steal money from his then-girlfriend. It’s impossible to know just how much he might have skimmed from her during the course of their relationship. Baier and Portwood split in 2017, ending their engagement.

She says Andrew Glennon cleaned out their joint bank account, too

Matt Baier was not the last romantic partner to allegedly steal from Amber Portwood. She also accused Andrew Glennon of stealing from her before the epic fight that led to her arrest and subsequent custody struggles. According to Us Weekly, Amber Portwood claimed her then live-in boyfriend and the father of her son had removed thousands of dollars from a joint bank account. She accused him of pilfering over $30,000 from her.

An insider told the publication that Glennon hadn’t removed the money, but rather, Portwood had taken it out in cash to keep inside the home, trusting a safe more than a bank. She denied the allegation, but at the end of the day, it’s impossible to know who is telling the truth. The account belonged to both Potwood and Glennon, so, legally, they both owned the cash, no matter where it went.

Her ex-beaus weren’t the only ones stealing cash, she claims. Amber says her friends did the same. Anyone who is familiar with Amber Portwood’s TikTok Live events is aware of how much time she spends on her couch. Amber seems to consider her couch the very best seat in the house. Apparently, it’s not just for sitting either. She used her couch cushions as a makeshift bank and fell victim to theft because of it.

In her book, So, You’re Crazy Too?, Portwood explained that she kept wads of cash in her house, often under the sofa, to pay for drugs. Her friends, many of whom were also addicted to drugs at the time, were well aware of her stash spots. Portwood posits that thousands of dollars left her home in the pockets of her pals without her knowledge or consent. She did not venture to guess how much money she lost along the way, but it’s apparently not an insignificant sum.
