After the critical success of I Think You Should Leave, Tim Robinson is returning to HBO with a brand new comedy series.

HBO unveiled the premiere date and first images from Robinson’s new show The Chair Company, which seems to be in the same vein as his HBO hit series.

Set to release later this fall, The Chair Company logline reads, “After an embarrassing incident at work, a man (Robinson) finds himself investigating a far-reaching conspiracy.”

The new series stars Lake Bell as Barb Trosper, Sophia Lillis as Natalie Trosper, Will Price as Seth Trosper and Joseph Tudisco as Mike Santini. Lou Diamond Phillips will also star in a recurring role as Jeff Levjman.

The comedian will be teaming back up with his I Think You Should Leave collaborator Zach Kanin for the new show. Andrew DeYoung and Aaron Schimberg will direct.

As Johnny Loftus put it in DECIDER’s review of I Think You Should Leave when it returned with its third season in 2023, Robinson reinforced the show’s “distinct brand of weird” that highlights the “inherent strangeness beneath the surface of our society,” which bodes well for Robinson’s highly anticipated return to television.

The comedy series earned Robinson two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Actor In A Short Form Comedy Or Drama Series in 2022 and 2023. The series, which ran from 2018 to 2022, also won the Emmy for Outstanding Short Form Comedy in 2022.

The Chair Company release date and how to stream:
