Ana Navarro didn’t hold back her criticism of Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during a discussion about the forthcoming launch of ChatGPT Health. This new service aims to integrate medical records and wellness apps using artificial intelligence.
The conversation kicked off at the beginning of Friday’s (Jan. 9) episode, when Joy Behar inquired whether her fellow hosts would consider using the AI service. Navarro was quick to respond candidly, “I have far more faith in ChatGPT than I do in Robert F. Kennedy.”
Her remark drew laughter from the audience, prompting her to add, “Honestly, I’d even trust Dr. Jekyll over him.”
Navarro’s pointed comment followed closely on the heels of her co-hosts’ disapproval of the newly released federal dietary guidelines introduced by Kennedy earlier in the week. The panel urged viewers to rely on their physicians’ advice rather than adhering to these new recommendations.
Meanwhile, Sunny Hostin expressed her skepticism about following Kennedy’s guidelines, though she admitted to finding the revised advice on alcohol consumption somewhat intriguing.
“He’s the least qualified health secretary we’ve ever had in the history of the United States of America in my view,” she said, earning applause from the audience. “I just can’t listen t o any of the guidelines. I don’t trust them and I hate to say that as someone who worked for the government.”
She then joked, “I will like to say, as someone that likes to indulge in a glass of wine now and then, I was interested in the fact that now it’s a social lubricant, it’s okay for me to have my Belle Glos and it’s okay for me to have my champagne and my rosé.”
Whoopi Goldberg also clapped back at the new guidelines on alcohol consumption, which notably removed the limit of daily alcoholic drinks and instead suggests adults should “consume less alcohol for better overall health.”
Dr. Mehmet Oz, the administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, described alcohol as a “social lubricant that brings people together,” prompting Goldberg to fire back, “So does weed! That’s a lubricant too.”
