Exciting developments emerged from BravoCon this morning as Andy Cohen announced during the “Ask Andy” panel that a cast has been selected for the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of New York City.
Although Cohen kept the specifics under wraps, he did reveal that filming for Season 16 is set to commence soon. “We are planning to start filming in the coming months, and I’m thrilled about it. Stay tuned for more details,” he shared with the eager audience.
This weekend saw the presence of original RHONY stars Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, Dorinda Medley, and Carole Radziwill, along with newer members Erin Lichy, Sai De Silva, and Jessel Taank, at BravoCon in Las Vegas. Their appearance sparked speculation that the next season might blend the show’s veteran and fresh faces.
However, Cohen was quick to dispel these rumors during his initial “Ask Andy” panel on Friday, November 14. “No, that’s not the case,” he clarified to moderator Jeff Lewis.
While Cohen refrained from divulging further specifics, he expressed confidence and enthusiasm about the group chosen for the new season. Meanwhile, Bravo’s next focus is deciphering the future direction of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
“Regarding Jersey, we will pick cameras back up. It’s coming back,” he shared this morning. “But we will do it when the time is right and when we feel great about it.”
Cohen reminded the audience that it took producers a minute to find the newest cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, which added stars Shamea Morton, Kelli Ferrell, and Angela Oakley, and brought back Porsha Williams for Season 16.
“I feel so good about that group and I feel so good about the group that we found for The Real Housewives of New York,” he said. “Jersey will be next. We want to get them right before rushing into it.”
