Angelina Jolie has talked about her worst pet peeve.

Turns out it’s not something small like bad manners or poor tipping; it’s actually a crippling problem.

‘My pet peeve is somebody who is a liar,’ said the Maria actress – who finalized her divorce from Brad Pitt last week- to the Great Performances issue of W magazine.

‘Somebody who feels a need to not say the truth or what they want, what they feel,’ added the mother to six. 

‘There’s a big version of that—and I’m not trying to be heavy about it—but people who say one thing and mean another, who aren’t completely who they are. I think a lot of people don’t say what they mean.’

The comment might be a barb to Pitt whom she fought with for eight years over their split. The fight was nasty as it involved their six children and a bundle of money; they are still battling it out over Chateau Miraval.

Angelina also shared that it was not really her dream to become a Hollywood actress. 

‘I did it in the beginning because it was my mother’s dream. My mom was my manager, and we were a team. I always wanted to buy her a house, and I started to pay the bills. When my mom passed, it was harder for me to be an actress because I realized how much of it was for her.’

Next she is making an action movie called Maude v Maude with Halle Berry.

Last week Jolie and Pitt reached a settlement in their divorce. 

Eight years after Angelina filed for divorce citing ‘irreconcilable differences’, the former couple have finally come to an agreement on terms and both have signed off on it. 

Angelina’s lawyer James Simon told PEOPLE: ‘More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family. 

‘This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. 

‘Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.’ 

Although the split was acrimonious, a source close to Jolie added: ‘She doesn’t speak ill of [Pitt] publicly or privately. She’s been trying hard to be light after a dark time.’

Angelina, 49, filed for divorce from Brad, 61, in September 2016 after just two years of marriage.

 It came just days after a journey on a private plane in which Angelina claimed Brad was abusive to her and their six children but authorities did not charge him after investigating. 

Angelina and Brad later released a joint statement declaring that they would keep all divorce proceedings private for the sake of their children. They said: ‘The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential and engaging a private judge to make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues. 

‘The parents are committed to act as a united front to effectuate recovery and reunification.’ 

The former couple share children Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Vivienne and Knox, now 16.

They were declared legally single in 2019 but have battled over custody and legal issues over their French estate and winery, Château Miraval, since the split. 

On Thursday Jolie made a rare post to Instagram. She posted only twice in all of 2024. 

The Oscar-winning actress posted a photo of a country in ruins with a poignant message for her 15M followers.

The actress was addressing the mass carnage in Syria as she moved the spotlight from her personal life to her humanitarian efforts.

‘Syria: over 17 million people in need of aid. Syria has been decimated by almost 14 years of conflict, displacement and economic deterioration.

‘While the recent change in government brings about a chance of a fresh start, millions still need help, and critical needs continue to be unmet.’

The information was from the The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), an organization that advocates for displaced people and their rights.

Jolie has worked before with the NRC in Jordan and Yemen.
