This move comes as they stand by their mother amid claims that Pitt exhibited violence during a family flight. While the children create a bit of distance from their father, sources suggest that Jolie is focused on preserving a peaceful household.

After a decade-long relationship, Jolie and Pitt married in 2014 and have six children together. However, by 2016, Jolie filed for a divorce, citing allegations of an incident where Pitt allegedly attacked her on an aircraft. This family upheaval saw their daughter Shiloh formally request to exclude “Pitt” from her name in 2024. Subsequently, siblings Zahara, Maddox, and Vivienne have also opted to make similar changes.
“If people knew the whole truth, they would have more sympathy for the children and respect them,” a source close to Jolie told People. “The fact they aren’t speaking ill or sharing things publicly only shows their decency.”
Zahara and Maddox’s petitions to change their names remain pending. Vivienne filed most recently. Shiloh’s petition was successfully granted in 2024.
“Angie hasn’t been fighting and isn’t angry,” the source said. “She just wants everyone to heal.”
