Angelina Jolie is reportedly optimistic that Brad Pitt will now refrain from ‘attacking her’ following the conclusion of their grueling eight-year divorce battle.

‘Angelina hopes the finalization of their divorce will enable him to move on, stop attacking her, and instead help heal their family,’ a source told People on Tuesday, a day after the former Hollywood power couple settled their contentious legal dispute.

The insider continued, ‘Brad has successfully used his power and his privilege to cover up his conduct at his family’s expense, to punish Angelina for leaving, and even to attempt to paint her as the reason why his relationship is so challenging with the children.’

Jolie, 49, and Pitt, 61, share six children: three biological—Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16—and three adopted—Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, and Zahara, 19.

Another source close to Jolie described the divorce process as a nightmare for her and her family. 

‘These last eight years have been such a horrendous time for her and her family,’ a different source told the outlet.

A source close to Pitt, however, pushed back on Jolie’s claims, telling People, ‘Jolie has engaged in one-sided attacks for the past eight years, including a never-ending distortion of facts and projecting their own behavior onto others, causing tremendous collateral damage to those in and around the family.’

On Monday, Pitt and Jolie officially settled their divorce, bringing an end to a contentious legal fight that lasted over eight years. 

However, one major sticking point remains unresolved—their $62 million dispute over the French château and vineyard they once co-owned.

The former couple, famously known as ‘Brangelina,’ signed off on their divorce paperwork this week. 

Jolie’s attorney, James Simon, told DailyMail.com that the actress is relieved to have closed this chapter. 

‘Frankly, Angelina is exhausted,’ Simon said.

‘More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time, she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family,’ he added.

Following the split, Zahara, Shiloh, and Vivienne have reportedly dropped Pitt from their last name.

While it’s believed that Knox and Vivienne still maintain some contact with their father, Maddox and Pax are said to be estranged.

Although their divorce has been finalized, the legal battle over Château Miraval, a celebrated French wine estate, remains contentious. 

Pitt has accused Jolie of selling her stake in the winery to the Stoli Group, known for its Stolichnaya vodka, without his consent.

Despite progress in their divorce proceedings, the vineyard dispute shows no signs of resolution. 

Sources told DailyMail.com that both parties are prepared to take the matter to a jury trial or pursue mediation if necessary.
