Season 8 of My Hero Academia is fast approaching, and fans are already speculating about how the anime series plans to conclude. Since the characters are in the middle of fighting an epic battle against Tomura Shigaraki and All For One, audiences are eager to know which of their favorite Heroes are going to get the chance to stand out. Many of them have already made stellar contributions, but there is still time to shine before the battle (and the series) is over.

The characters who need to shine the most in My Hero Academia Season 8 are the ones whom fans have followed the longest. Viewers are deeply invested in these characters by now, and their final actions should be the peak of the series. However, there are a few surprising characters who have become relevant within the last season. Whatever Season 8 has in store for fans, there are sure to be epic feats in store for all of My Hero Academia’s fan-favorite characters.

Nieto Monoma Needs To Put His Money Where His Mouth Is

Nieto Monoma Needs To Show Off All That He Is Capable Of

Nieto Monoma made a surprisingly large splash in Season 7. At last, all of his boisterous boasting came to fruition when he used his Quirk to transport people and then to attempt to keep Tomura Shigaraki’s Quirk at bay (with Aizawa and Manual’s help). Had it not been for his Quirk and immense concentration, the Heroes could not have pulled off such a large-scale assault.

Though he has already displayed immense fortitude as an integral (but passive) part in the battle, Monoma deserves the chance to shine. Monoma has spoken at length about his talents, and it is time for him to truly show Class 1-A what he is made of. This is not only for his own benefit but for the inspiration of his classmates, who are primed to see just what their boastful friend has in store.

Mezo Shoji Can Become A Beacon For Heteromorphs

Shoji Has Already Displayed Impressive Leadership Skills

Mezo Shoji has spent most of My Hero Academia as little more than a side character. However, that recently changed in a Season 7 episode where his traumatic childhood was revealed. As a Heteromorph, Shoji was ridiculed and ostracized. Now, as a burgeoning Hero, Shoji hopes to flip the narrative about Heteromorphs and show that they are regular people like everyone else.

My Hero Academia Season 7, Episode 14 Review: One of MHA’s Most Emotional Battles

My Hero Academia Season 7, Episode 14, “Together with Shoji,” tackles the heavy theme of heteromorph discrimination with both finesse and power.

Shoji’s call to action for the Heteromorphs was truly inspiring. It is a shame that audiences didn’t get more of a chance to know Shoji prior to the last two seasons. That is all the more reason why he should get his day in the sun in Season 8. If the creators want to give Shoji a proper send-off, they are going to have to show him in another leadership role, leading the Heteromorphs to victory and acceptance.

Lemillion Is Back In Action

Mirio Togata Has His Permeation Powers Again

Lemillion made a splash when he burst onto the scene with his smiling face poking through a solid wall. Since then, audiences have come to adore this lovable character who dreams of saving one million people. Though his Quirk was taken away by a Quirk-erasing drug, Lemillion has since regained his powers and is back in the fray where he belongs.

After suffering the devastating losses of not only his Quirk but his revered mentor, Sir Nighteye, Lemillion needs a win. He has worked so hard at improving and was even the best student in the entirety of U.A. Any young person with those accolades should have some kind of happy ending, especially so that he can prove to himself that all of his hard work has not gone to waste.

Eijiro Kirishima Has Earned a Proper Macho Moment

Red Riot Should Return to his Former Glory

Eijiro Kirishima has become a bit of a forgotten character in the later seasons of My Hero Academia. This is in contrast to his prominent appearance in the first two seasons and his starring role in the fourth season. Audiences know that Kirishima has been hard at work to perfect his Quirk, and it is time for him to be in the spotlight once again.

Too much of the anime has focused on Deku, Katsuki Bakugo, and Shoto Todoroki, leaving characters like Kirishima destined for the sidelines. Kirishima had such a passionate arc in the Shie Hassaikai that it seems a shame that he should be forgotten in the final season. Kirishima needs a proper send-off that is as manly as he desires to be.

Hitoshi Shinso Worked Hard To Become A Hero

Hitoshi Shinso Deserves To Show Off Why He Was Chosen For Class A

Ever since Hitoshi Shinso was introduced, the series has promised to put him in the spotlight. He may have started as a General Studies student, but Shinso has shown that he has immense power and a keen strategic mind. Now that he is officially part of Class 1-A, Shinso deserves to show off why he was chosen to transfer.

Shinso is such an interesting character because he has a similar arc to Deku, except he had a Quirk the whole time. It is just that it didn’t suit the challenge during the Entrance Exam. Shinso represents the inherent Quirk prejudices within the Quirk analysis system, while also showing how one can overcome them. With his incredible Brainwashing Quirk and his popularity among fans, Shinso is ripe for a standout moment in Season 8.

The Todoroki Family All Need An Emotional Conclusion

Shoto & Enji Should Fight Side By Side One Last Time

Dabi dreams of a happier moment with the Todoroki family in My Hero Academia

The Todoroki family has been a bastion of chaos throughout My Hero Academia. Some of the anime’s biggest twists and most emotional moments have come about because of the Todorokis. Though they already had a culminating moment at the time of Dabi’s death, the Todorokis deserve to find more solid ground for how their dynamic is going to play out moving forward.

There are still a lot of hurt and unresolved feelings for the Todorokis. Therefore, it would be beneficial for them to come to some sort of consensus about how they want to handle their relationship. Plus, both Shoto and Enji Todoroki deserve to have truly heroic moments in the final battle. So much has been building up to them working together as a unit that it would be satisfying to see them fighting their final Villain together.

Deku’s Journey As A Hero Needs A Proper Send-Off

Izuku Midoriya Worked Too Hard To Be Sidelined

A scared Eri clings to a determined Deku's back so he can use One for All Full Cowling 100 Percent in My Hero Academia.

As the protagonist of the series, Izuku Midoriya (Deku) should be the star of the Season. My Hero Academia’s entire premise is built on Deku’s journey from not having a prayer of achieving his dream to being one of the most sought-after Heroes. Season 8 would be remiss in its duty if it did not give Deku a spotlight in the final season of the anime.

Deku has worked and fought so hard to be seen as a great Hero. The only way to do his character justice is to give him a big moment (or moments) in Season 8 that would cement him as the promised “greatest Hero”. Deku may be an obvious choice for a character who needs to shine in the final season. However, it is because he is a blatant choice that he needs to stand out all the more in Season 8.

3

Katsuki Bakugo Has Grown Emotionally

Katsuki Bakugo Deserves To Show His True Heroism

Katsuki Bakugo has become a secondary protagonist for My Hero Academia. His strained relationship with Izuku Midoriya (Deku) has been a cornerstone of the series. Equally important is Bakugo’s character development arc. Although he was often thought of as a brash and destructive teen, his change in behavior has sparked a new outlook on his heroic future. His living status is a bit unknown at this time, but viewers are confident that Bakugo is going to survive Shigaraki’s attack.

Bakugo has had plenty of extraordinary moments in the series already, but his character deserves to have a proper send-off. After all the growth he has gone through, it seems only fitting that he should have a grand, heroic gesture at the end of the series. Bakugo isn’t the protagonist, but his influence on the story has warranted his place as a character who needs to shine in My Hero Academia, Season 8.

2

Shota Aizawa Deserves To Have A Major Win

Erasehead Is Always Plays Support

Shota Aizawa, like his students, has always been at the center of the fighting. Whether he is up against Nomu at the USJ or facing Tomura Shigaraki at the Coffin in the Sky, Aizawa is no stranger to brutal combat. Though he has lost his leg and his Quirk is weakened, Aizawa still manages to throw himself into the middle of the fighting to support his students.

Several My Hero Academia characters ended up losing their Quirk one way or another, but at the end of the day, they never lost their fighting spirit.

Unlike any other adult in the entire series, Aizawa has always been right by his students’ side. He never backs down and appears to be solely dedicated to ensuring everyone’s safety. Aizawa deserves a more dramatic moment to shine after all the hard work and vigilance he has put in. He isn’t really known as one of the greatest Heroes of all time, but that is something that needs to change in this final season of My Hero Academia.

Ochaco Uraraka Needs A Moment To Shine On Her Own

Her Role Is Larger Than Himiko Toga & Deku

Ochaco Uraraka has already had a significant role in the ongoing battle. Her encounter with Himiko Toga was both intense and heartwarming; however, Uraraka needs a win that doesn’t involve Toga or Deku. Too much of her story is focused on her potential romances with both characters, making Uraraka long overdue for her own shining moment.

Throughout My Hero Academia, Uraraka has shown that she is just as capable a Hero as any of her male classmates, yet she constantly gets pushed to the sidelines. Although she has a major arc with Toga, much of Uraraka’s development revolves around her crush on Deku. To fully stand out in this last season, Uraraka needs a truly epic, heroic moment that proves, once and for all, that she is on the same level as all the other incredible characters in Class 1-A.
