Hulu Quietly Updates Dragon Ball DAIMA Series Finale Info

Hulu removes its Dragon Ball Daima finale information from its February release list in the wake of a likely accidental leak.

Crunchyroll Reveals New YouTube Streaming Collaboration for International Anime Fans

Initially released in October 2024, Daima introduced a brand-new story from the mind of Dragon Ball‘s late creator, Akira Toriyama. Created as a 40th-anniversary tribute to the entire franchise, the series follows Goku, Vegeta and company after they are transformed into children by a new foe who dwells within the mysterious Demon Realm. As of Jan. 22, 14 episodes of the anime have been released. While the anime’s staffers have not revealed the series’ official finale date, a recent Hulu incident widely perceived to be an accidental leak has led many to conclude that the ending will debut on Feb. 28 with Episode 20.

A-1 Pictures’ dark fantasy hit Solo Leveling adapts Chugong’s titular web novel series, which originally launched in February 2014. The franchise is set in a world where “hunters” must join together to battle monsters which find their way to the human world via mysterious portals. However, only a small sect of humanity can access the powers needed to fight them. The series’ lead, Sung Jinwoo, is widely berated as “the world’s weakest hunter” by his fellow warriors. After being mortally wounded inside a dungeon, Jinwoo gains access to a mysterious program that allows him to “level up” his skills indefinitely — something that other hunters cannot do. Season 2, which chronicles Jinwoo’s mastery of his newfound job title as a Shadow Monarch, premiered on Jan. 4.

According to Crunchyroll CEO Rahul Purini, the app will include “catalogs from renowned publishers” at launch. This news arrived shortly after Sony’s major share buyout of Kadokawa, sparking speculation that Kadokawa works like Attack on Titan could be among those featured on the new app. However, as of writing, Crunchyroll has not yet unveiled a list of confirmed publishers or franchises. The app is slated to launch later this year.
