Goku Ascended to His Strongest DBZ Form in Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 17

The Fight Against King Gomah is Officially Underway

Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 17 was a phenomenal start to the final battle between Supreme Demon King Gomah and the Z Fighters. The episode picked up with Goku and the Z Fighters being confronted with Arinsu and her two Majin minions, Duu and Kuu. With all three Dragon Balls collected, Arinsu proposed a challenge: a one-on-one duel to the death between Duu and one of the heroes, with the winner getting the full set of Dragon Balls. After a bit of arguing between Goku and Vegeta, it was finally decided that Goku would represent the Z Fighters, and his match with Duu was underway.

Interestingly, even though Arinsu’s relationship with Glorio has been a consistent point of reference throughout the series, Glorio and Arinsu don’t seem prepared to reveal their plans just yet. Glorio even questions to himself at one point in the episode “Just what are they planning?”, suggesting that even he is on the outside looking in on Arinsu’s ultimate goal. Still, that plot thread is pushed on the back burner for now, as things escalate quickly as far as the action is concerned.

It’s a terrifying legendary item called the Evil Third Eye. It’s said whoever wears the Eye gains immeasurable power and can reign as a sovereign.

Goku and Duu engage in an intense battle, with their powers seeming fairly equal. Just as the battle hits its pinnacle, though, the pair are interrupted – by none other than King Gomah. Now wielding the Evil Third Eye, Gomah has become an overpowered monstrosity with physical strength matching his enormous size. The Z Fighters are utterly powerless against Gomah, as he swats them all away like flies. Even the combined might of Vegeta, Goku, Piccolo, Glorio and Shin are laughable at best against the legendary Tertian Oculus. Luckily, both Arinsu and Neva give their respective minions the nod of approval to join the fight, helping even the odds slightly. Even so, Gomah is able to overpower everyone.

Dragon Ball DAIMA Threatened to Destroy the Dragon Balls – But 1 of Goku’s Rivals Did Just That Years Ago

Dragon Ball DAIMA suggested the Dragon Balls could be destroyed, causing an old fan debate to resurface.

Things become even more dire in the midst of battle as Goku drops and loses his Medi Bugs, effectively giving the heroes no way of recharging their energy or healing their wounds. With nearly everyone out of commission and all hope appearing lost, Gomah fires a potentially fatal energy beam at Goku that would surely finish him off. In the 11th hour, Majin Duu and Tamagami 1 show up to protect their once sworn enemy. With no options left and his back against the ropes, Goku finally uses his strongest form as of the Buu Saga, Super Saiyan 3. With Goku at his strongest in Dragon Ball DAIMA, and King Gomah in control of the legendary Evil Third Eye, the stage is set for a truly epic confrontation in a way that only Dragon Ball could deliver.

Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 18 Will Be Goku’s Biggest Battle Yet

A New Awakening May Occur Between Major Characters in Dragon Ball DAIMA’s Upcoming Episode

As always, Dragon Ball DAIMA gave fans a brief sneak-peak at the next episode in the final moments of Episode 17 – and it’s pretty much what you’d expect. The final battle between SSJ3 Goku and King Gomah will officially begin in Episode 18. The preview shows Goku and Gomah coming to blows, with the two clearly at around equal strength. This isn’t quite as revealing as other episode previews, as it doesn’t really give fans much more information than what they already would’ve expected. Nevertheless, it looks to be an exciting episode with some awesome fight sequences.

However, being that there will still be two more episodes of the series after this one, it’s extremely unlikely SSJ3 Goku vs Gomah will end in Episode 18. In fact, judging by the Episode’s title, there may even be a new final form that one or both of the main combatants achieve in battle. It’s well-known that Goku’s Super Saiyan 3 drains a lot of energy quickly, so seeing it last for more than one episode before he is completely out of power seems unlikely. Instead, it may be that Goku is either forced to awaken a new form entirely, or Gomah levels up even more to become too powerful for even an SSJ3 to handle.

I guess I ain’t got a choice!

By Making Super Saiyan 4 Canon, Dragon Ball DAIMA Can Revive an Iconic Goku Detail After 28 Years

Making Super Saiyan 4 canon would bring Kid Goku back to his roots, just like Dragon Ball DAIMA’s been doing all series – SSJ4 only make sense.

This turn of events seems even more reasonable considering rumors and apparent ‘leaks’ circulating among fans have suggested that Episode 18 would contain an exciting, never-before-seen transformation for one of the main characters. While unconfirmed, the title of the episode, “Awakening”, as well as the suddenly dramatic rise in the stakes and scale of power in just the prior episode alone, definitely warrant a new transformation more than ever. Fans have been expecting a potential fusion between Goku and Vegeta ever since Join Bugs were first introduced in Episode 4, so this may finally mark that big moment. No matter what the payoff is, Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 18 is expected to be a true spectacle to witness as Mini Goku faces the true final boss of the anime.

Dragon Ball DAIMA is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
