While Lihua’s lady-in-waiting ignores her message, Gyokuyou takes it seriously and stops using the powder. As a result, Gyokuyou’s daughter survives. This is the first time Maomao’s curiosity and knowledge of medicine turns the tide against the hidden dangers of the palace. Even though Maomao is just a servant, her keen sense of observation and deep knowledge help her spot the real danger and act in time.
