In a strategic move to expand its presence in North America, Japan’s entertainment powerhouse REMOW launched a free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channel in July 2025, showcasing a wide array of beloved anime titles for the burgeoning Western audience. Recently, REMOW has teamed up with VIZIO to introduce its sought-after streaming channel to a broader audience.
According to a report by Anime News Network, REMOW’s “It’s Anime” channel has made its debut on the WatchFree+ app by VIZIO in the United States. While the platform boasts over 300 live TV channels, “It’s Anime” stands out as one of the few channels solely dedicated to anime content. The channel initially launched on Samsung’s TV Plus service in the U.S. and Canada on July 2, marking the first time viewers in these regions could access the service.
As global interest in anime continues to surge, the rise of free-to-access anime services presents a significant challenge to premium streaming platforms like Disney+ and Crunchyroll, both of which have experienced notable hikes in subscription fees in recent years.
The immense popularity of anime among international audiences is underscored by the blockbuster success of films such as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle and Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc. This growing demand has prompted companies, including Netflix, to significantly boost their investments in anime, leading to the production and distribution of series like Komi Can’t Communicate, Pluto, Devilman Crybaby, and Cyberpunk Edgerunners. Other major streaming platforms, such as Prime Video and Disney+, have also entered the fray, securing long-term production agreements with key players in the anime and manga sectors, such as Kodansha.
As evidenced by the record-breaking box office earnings for films such as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle and Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc, anime has become extremely popular among international audiences. In recent years, the rising demand has driven companies such as Netflix to invest more heavily in anime content — a phenomenon that has led to the production and distribution of anime works such as Komi Can’t Communicate, Pluto, Devilman Crybaby and Cyberpunk Edgerunners, among others. Companies such as Prime Video and Disney+ have followed suit, forging long-term production deals with groups such as Kodansha and other major entities in the anime and manga industry.
New 24/7 Anime Channel Expands Free Streaming for U.S. Fans
REMOW’s “It’s anime” channel offers a rotating selection of titles, the majority of which have aired within the last three years or are currently airing in Japan. At the time of writing, viewers have access to over 70 cumulative hours of content. Highlights from the channel’s current collection include the absurdist gag comedy My Deer Friend Nokotan (2024), the quirky racing series Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray (2025), the revenge-themed dark fantasy series Tougen Anki (2025) and the eerie supernatural mystery series Tasokare Hotel (2025).
Additional titles include Your Forma (2025), Hell Teacher: Jogoku Sensei Nube (2025), Miru: Paths to my Future (2025), Fermat Kitchen (2025) and Kuroko’s Basketball (2012-2015).
REMOW’s latest initiatives appear to be part of a broader, long-term commitment to broadening anime’s availability among North American audiences. “We developed It’s Anime to meet the expectations of today’s anime audience,” explained REMOW CEO Akira Ishii when the channel initially launched in July. “[North America] has passionate, engaged fans who want timely access to the latest series without barriers.” Notably, Ishii’s company also streams anime on its official YouTube channel, with availability primarily restricted to users located in the U.S. and Canada.
With the global demand for anime at an all-time high, REMOW plans to continue striking while the iron is hot. According to ANN, the company will make the “It’s Anime” FAST channel available on “additional platforms and territories throughout 2025 and 2026.”
