One Piece Day is a yearly celebration honoring Eiichiro Oda’s iconic manga and anime franchise, usually featuring exciting updates about the series with fans or teasing its future. One thrilling (and long overdue) reveal during One Piece Day 2025 was the confirmation of a new female-led anime.

The official One Piece X (formerly Twitter) account shared a post confirming that the One Piece: Heroines novel would receive the anime treatment. Per the post, One Piece fans can “enjoy episodes that depict the charms of the heroines that you won’t see in the main story.” The novel follows characters including Nami, Nico Robin, Boa Hancock, Uta and more as they experience their own adventures in a collection of short stories.

The anime adaptation’s key visual was shared as part of the announcement, accompanied by a main staff reveal for the production side. These include Haruka Kamatani (director), Momoka Toyoda (script) and Takashi Kojima (character designer). A specific release date for the anime or an announcement about its exact format/episode count have yet to be confirmed.
