Dragon Ball never shies away from its fantastical roots. Ever since Goku was a tailed kid running around Mount Paozu, he has experienced how extraordinary this world can be — from riding aboard a Flying Nimbus to befriending the walking, talking animals that live among the humans. The latter offers a special glimpse into how unpredictable this world can be, whether it’s a shape-shifting pig named Oolong or a skinless cat known as the God of Destruction.
Out of the animal characters this series has introduced, there are many that can hold their own in a fight and completely dismantle their opponents in only a few strikes. But through the menagerie of animal characters that grace the screen with their power, which are considered the strongest? Which can make an elephant or a mere cat strike fear in hearts and earn the right to be known as the strongest?

Korin Is the Strongest Animal Character on Earth
Korin Trained Both Goku and Master Roshi
In the early Dragon Ball days, many animal characters made their presence felt with their charm, filling a comedic role in the series. These characters got a bad rep in Dragon Ball for a long time due to how weak characters like Oolong, Puar, and Shu were portrayed. But Korin made it known that not every anthropomorphic character is weak and can actually possess great strength and wisdom. No animal character had the mystique and untold power that was truly respected until Korin stepped onto the scene.

Dragon Ball: How Did Yajirobe Meet Korin – and Why Do They Live Together?
Here’s an overview of Korin and Yajirobe’s history together, including how the two of them met and possible reasons they continue to hang out.
Korin is a literal deity who has lived over 800 years, honing his martial arts. What makes Korin the strongest animal character on Earth is the fact that he trained both Master Roshi and Goku. Goku needed Korin’s tutelage to defeat both Mercenary Tao and King Piccolo when he realized he was outclassed in both scenarios. Although viewers have never seen what this cat can do in a fight, these accolades alone prove that Korin is one of the toughest animal characters in the franchise, and he has a 190 power level to back it up, which was pretty good at the time.

Trio De Danger Represent the Peak of Universe 9
Bergamo, Lavender, and Basil Are a Ferocious Unit Together
Animal characters were never a concern when it came to fighters during the majority of Dragon Ball’s run. But Dragon Ball Super would flip this narrative on its head, introducing multiple formidable animal-based fighters, including the Trio De Danger. Individually, the Trio De Danger may not be the strongest warriors in the multiverse, but together, they prove to be quite the threat.
Bergamo, Lavender, and Basil are a team of werewolf brothers that work perfectly together, which is why they are lumped together for this position. This trio is so highly regarded because they can get the jump on practically anybody, no matter their strength. Their tactics and teamwork are why they sit atop the rundown Universe 9, also filled with anthropomorphic animals. Although this universe had the lowest mortal level among the universes, they wouldn’t go down without a fight.

Dyspo, the Pride Trooper, Is the Fastest Fighter in the Tournament of Power
The Sonic Warrior’s Light Bullet Technique Makes Him a Force
Dyspo is an easy contender for one of the strongest animal characters in the Dragon Ball franchise. During the Tournament of Power, this purple hare was introduced and proved that he was not to be trifled with. Dyspo is a member of the Pride Troopers, a collective of heroes from Universe 11. Driven by justice and order, Dyspo is among the top fighters of Universe 11, which happens to have the highest mortal level in the Tournament of Power.

Dragon Ball: Every Pride Trooper, Ranked According To Strength
With the final Blu-Ray of Dragon Ball Super being released this week, we decided to take a look at the Pride Troopers and rank them based on strength.
Dyspo, the Sonic Warrior, is quite deserving of his nickname, being the fastest fighter in the tournament. This incredible speed makes Dyspo a lethal threat, especially to the other universes he was pitted against. Dyspo is so fast that the Gods of Destruction couldn’t even see his movements when using his signature Light Bullet technique. Even Vados, an Angel, was just barely able to see his high-speed attacks.

Liquiir Is One of the Gods of Destruction With a High Mortal Level
Liquiir Is Willing To Annihilate Civilizations for His Universe’s Mortal Level
The God of Destruction Liquiir is among the few universes not on the chopping block due to having a sufficient mortal level. This fox-like god is among the strongest fighters in the multiverse. Being a God of Destruction alone makes Liquiir an obvious candidate for one of the strongest animal characters in Dragon Ball, and although he doesn’t have many outstanding design features, he radiates true power.
Liquiir has shown his power by going out of his way to annihilate civilizations that would lower his universe’s mortal level. Liquiir doesn’t have much screen time during Dragon Ball Super, but the audience was treated to a God of Destruction free-for-all between Liquiir, Arak, and Iwan. The fight was quick and barely perceptible, but the sheer power of Liquiir was not to be denied.

Giin Was Confident In His Power Against Some of the Gods of Destruction
Giin Is A Menacing Aquatic Humanoid
Giin is one of the more menacing Gods of Destruction based on appearance alone. His aquatic features, including the fin-shaped ears, red eyes, and scaled skin, give him a uniquely intimidating presence. Giin is another deity who was exempt from the Tournament of Power due to having a high mortal level.
When certain Gods of Destruction offered to test their skills in a fight, Giin didn’t offer to join because he already knew how it would end. Assuming he would be the victor, this shows Giin’s confidence in his strength, even among the Gods of Destruction. Although he was confident in his ability against Arak, Iwan, and Liquiir, Giin was certain that he would’ve been defeated in the manga when the Gods of Destruction were targeted by Beerus’ Sphere of Destruction.

Rumsshi Went Toe-to-Toe Against Beerus
Rumsshi Can Paralyze Gods With His Battle Roar
Perhaps one of the coolest Gods of Destruction design-wise, Rumsshi, the pink humanoid elephant, has a say in this animal character debate on who is best in Dragon Ball. In the anime, Rumsshi doesn’t have much of a role, even dying thanks to Gowasu, the Supreme Kai of Universe 10. But the manga makes up for this lack of screen time a bit during the Zeno Expo.
What places Rumsshi so high among the animal characters in the series is the manga’s depiction of the Zeno Expo, when the Gods of Destruction had an all-out brawl. Rumsshi put on a good showing, using his battle roar ability to paralyze some of the Gods of Destruction and even going toe-to-toe against Beerus. Although he would lose against Beerus, Rumsshi showed that he could contend with the best, leaving Beerus bruised and gasping for air.

Moro’s 10 Million-Year-Long Imprisonment Couldn’t Hold Him Down
Moro Introduces a New Way to Attain Power
Although he hasn’t made an appearance in the anime quite yet, Moro is undoubtedly one of the strongest animal characters in Dragon Ball. Moro offers one of the more unique fighting styles not just among these types of characters, but in the Dragon Ball universe. Planet Eater Moro is a wizard who becomes stronger by absorbing the life energy of planets and living beings.

Moro is the latest big bad to join Dragon Ball’s cast of powerful villains, many of whom he takes a lot after.
Moro has been imprisoned for 10 million years, and even after so long, he managed to regain his strength and evolve into an even more dangerous threat. His battle with Goku and Vegeta proves his placement among animal fighters in the series and just comes short of a top-three spot. When Moro unlocks his later forms, only god-level fighters can take on such a powerhouse.

Champa’s Laziness Causes Him to Fall Short of the Best
Champa Has All the Tools But Lacks the Drive
Champa, the twin brother of Beerus, is undoubtedly one of the strongest fighters in all of Dragon Ball. Vados, the Angel of Universe 6, alluded to Beerus edging his brother out in strength simply by saying to look at their appearance to see who would come out on top. His ties with Beerus alone solidify his spot among the best, but he does have his shortcomings.
Many of the Gods of Destruction are lazy, but Champa takes things to a whole new level. Champa admitted to not training in decades and gets tired quicker than Beerus. Despite all of this, Champa is still considered a top-three God of Destruction, which makes you wonder how strong he could be if he weren’t so lazy.

Quitela is Considered Beerus’ Rival
Quitela’s Cat and Mouse Game With Beerus Makes Him a Worthy Foe
Quitela is a conniving and intelligent manipulator, which is fitting for the animal he represents and for the title, “God of Destruction.” Quitela makes it clear that he is Beerus’ rival, following the cat-and-mouse trope. But beyond these stereotypical dynamics, Quitela etches the clear number two spot among the animal characters in this series. Even with such a short presence on the screen, Quitela has shown that he is deserving of this spot.

Strongest Gods Of Destruction In Dragon Ball Super, Ranked
In the Dragon Ball multiverse, the Gods of Destruction are powerful deities who love to cause havoc. But who is the most powerful God of Destruction?
Quitela has shown his lack of remorse when Universe 9 was being erased — if anything, he looked to be amused. In addition to his cunning ways, he has also shown his strength, defeating Beerus in arm wrestling. He also seemed confident in his hand-to-hand combat when preparing to fight Beerus during the Zeno Expo. Sadly, the fight was quickly cut short just before it could begin.

Beerus Sits Alone at the Top
Beerus’ Battle Against Each God of Destruction Proves His Standing
It’s a given that the most powerful animal character in all of this series is Beerus the Destroyer. Besides any of the angels, there isn’t a soul that can take on Beerus and succeed in defeating the hairless cat. Beerus introduced the notion that animal characters are strong at the start of Dragon Ball Super, and he opened the floodgates to just how much stronger Goku and Vegeta could become.
Besides defeating Goku without breaking a sweat, Beerus has shown his power during the Zeno Expo when each God of Destruction attempted to take him down. He more than held his own in this battle, evading their attacks and defeating some gods along the way. Although he most likely couldn’t take on all of the Gods of Destruction, he certainly proved that he is the strongest animal character in Dragon Ball.
