Girls’ Love Hit Series ‘Love Bullet’ Gets Nominated for Anime Creation in Worldwide Vote

Love Bullet being nominated in AnimeJapan’s 2025 anime adaptation poll is a significant achievement, considering where the series was last year. inee, the author and illustrator of Love Bullet, announced on Sept. 17, 2024, that she was taking the month off to promote her book, which was struggling in sales. “My biggest goal has always been to tell Koharu’s entire story, and I will do everything in my power to make that a reality,” inee said. “The story will be on hiatus for another month while I work towards that ambitious goal.”

With the likelihood of cancelation strong, overseas fans rallied up to help the first collected volume of Love Bullet sell out in Japan. This led to Japanese online and in-store retailers suddenly selling out their stock of Love Bullet and ordering more by popular demand. inee was moved to tears by the unbelievable results of the fan campaign and the fact that it was orchestrated mainly by international fans for a series only available in Japan. Even if Love Bullet fails to win the #1 nomination in AnimeJapan’s official poll, its presence shows the series’ surging popularity, often leading to more substantial support from publishers. The poll is also a great marketing tool for promoting niche series to more mainstream audiences.
