The iconic Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise is celebrating the trading card game’s 25th anniversary with EARLY DAYS COLLECTION, re-releasing classic game titles for the modern era on both the Nintendo Switch and Steam.
Via a press release, Konami today announced the release of Yu-Gi-Oh! EARLY DAYS COLLECTION through retail and on the Nintendo Switch eShop. The Steam release will go live at 9 a.m. ET and is confirmed to be Steam Deck Verified. The collection includes 14 titles spanning the Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance, including some never released outside of Japan and available worldwide for the first time. The collection will include a save/load anywhere feature — a feature not available at the time of their original releases. There will also be support for online battles in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 4: Battle of Great Duelist. After release, some titles will be updated to support online play. Yu-Gi-Oh! EARLY DAYS COLLECTION also updates the original games for modern play, with upcoming features including control button layout customization and background settings.
Off-screen, Konami recently announced that the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship will take place in Europe for the first time in five years. It kicks off in Paris, France, on August 30-31, with events scheduled in four categories: Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links (Speed Duel format), Yu-Gi-Oh!
