Anna Camp is embracing her truth with courage and grace. Nearly a year has passed since the Pitch Perfect star confirmed her relationship with her girlfriend, Jade Whipkey, last May. Now, she is opening up about her journey with her sexuality and the reasons behind her decision to publicly come out as bisexual.
In a candid conversation on the March 10 episode of the I’ve Never Said This Before with Tommy DiDario podcast, Camp revealed, “As a 43-year-old woman, I am very proud of myself for owning my sexuality at this age.” This revelation, shared in a clip obtained by People, highlights her strength in facing public scrutiny and judgment. “I am a very strong person for doing it in somewhat of a spotlight with people criticizing and judging and making assumptions. I’m really proud to be bisexual,” she declared.
The actress, known for her role in You, was previously married to Michael Mosley from 2010 to 2013 and to her Pitch Perfect co-star Skylar Austin from 2016 to 2019. Reflecting on her personal growth, Camp admitted she has undergone “a major evolution in my 40s,” embracing her identity without fear.
“Sure, there are times I feel like I am taking a risk and this is scary and I’m doing it in a public forum,” she acknowledged. However, she emphasized the importance of authenticity: “But to say, ‘No, I only get one life and I want to be happy,’ that’s what life is all about.”
